Saterah and Biancia's Kidney Transplant Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Hello friends, family, colleagues, and admirers of The Moore Family.

As some of you know, but likely most do not, Saterah and Biancia are about to embark on a life-saving journey: Saterah is donating a kidney to her beloved wife, B. This will hopefully be the final chapter of a traumatic few years that started when the world's cutest child, Parker-Grace, was born.

The broad strokes:
After 5 years of trying to bring Parker-Grace into the world, the best morning of their lives turned into a nightmare as Biancia quickly went into organ failure after an emergency C-Section. Shortly thereafter, she was in a coma for 7 days. While all her major organ function returned about a week later, her kidneys did not. So since 8/27/22, Biancia has quietly and humbly been on dialysis (4 treatments a week) while parenting and saving lives through her full time tour as a Nurse Manager at the VA Hospital. Saterah, taking the role as primary caregiver, put her TV career on hold in order to be home for Parker and Biancia.

But dialysis is not sustainable--a kidney transplant is the only long-term solution for Biancia. In trying to find a kidney donor, Saterah tested and, miraculously, is a match! They've been approved for surgery on June 20th. As you can imagine, it's a reality with many complex emotional layers and logistics to sort out.

That's where we come in.

The need:
Saterah and Biancia would never ask for help in this way, but I gave them no choice in the matter. This isn't something they can do without their village. Although the surgeries are mostly covered under insurance, the recovery is expensive and neither one of them will be able to work for at least 8 weeks.

They need full time child care for several weeks, as they're not able to lift more than a gallon of milk. Transportation for daily doc appointments the first week, then every other day week 2, then 3 times a week for 6 weeks... and they're not allowed to drive for the first 3 weeks.

They need an in-house nurse for Biancia the first 3 weeks. She will be HIGHLY immuno compromised and will need someone to take her to appointments and manage her meds full time during post op. to make sure there are no signs of organ rejection. In addition to the needs, I know we all want them to have a peaceful and stress-free recovery, so this money will also go towards fun things for Parker-Grace, and any unforeseen costs that might occur.

They would love to end this incredibly challenging journey on June 20th, just in time to celebrate PG's 3rd birthday. Please, if you are able, donate what you can to ensure the surgeries mark the beginning of a new, beautiful and healthy chapter of life for this family.

They've always been there for us, and now it's time for us to do the same.

With love,
Kelly
