Satellite Phones for Puerto Rico
Tax deductible
The people in Puerto Rico that have been isolated by Hurricane Maria are in desperate need of a way to contact relatives outside the island.
Our small church in Kentucky has deep ties with the people of Puerto Rico. Many in our congregation are from there, and we are all searching our hearts for a way to help the people that are suffering.
One thing that stands out from the newscasts is the heartbreak of the many people that cannot contact relatives in the US to let them know how they are doing.
We want to provide as many satellite telephones as possible to First Responders in Puerto Rico. The First Responders that are on the ground providing assistance are in a position to offer a phone call from the isolated people to their relatives that are often desperate to find out how they are doing.
My sister is an EMS Supervisor in Puerto Rico, and we will coordinate with her to get the satellite phones to other First Responder Commanders on the island.
100% of the funds collected will go to providing satellite phones to Puerto Rico First Responder Services, with no administrative costs. Our church is an accredited 501(c)(3) charity.
October 10, 2017: We have purchased 4 Satellite Phones to deliver to Puerto Rico First Responders.
The phones were sent today and will be in the hands of First Responders on October 11, 2017.
Thank you again for your support of the people that desperately need this blessing. We have spent more than has been donated, but we are confident that God will provide.
October 11, 2017: The satellite phones are now being used in Puerto Rico. The reception is great. People are visibly moved when thay are able to talk with family that they have been unable to reach. Thank you all for making this blessing possible.
Please continue to support this effort. The satellite phones were sent with 100 minutes each. Donations to provide additional minutes for the phones will help keep the communications going until cell service is restored to Puerto Rico.
