On November 1, 2017, our Scott was involved in a serious accident.
I got a call at 9:30 that Scott had been transported by life flight to Peace Health Trauma center in Vancouver Washington.
The logging road he was driving on gave way and his service truck went off a cliff down a 150-foot drop into the Kalama River bank. It took them two hours to hoist him up and then he was transported by life flight helicopter.
He was placed in the ICU for the first 48 hours. Then transferred to the surgical floor for 3 more days.
Our whole world went off that cliff this day. All of Scott's lifework of tools were scattered on the mountainside. The company has gathered as much as they can of his tools from the accident.
His injuries are
Broken eye socket, cheek, and jaw bone
Broken Ribs
Bruised Lungs
Lacerated Spleen Grade 3
Lacerated Pancrease
Broken lower backbones
Lacerated right kneecap
Left leg multiple large seromas and has swollen to twice the size of the right leg. (Blood clots ruled out thankfully).
Severe road rash on lower left back
Scott is home now. It's been a long week. He's got some hurdles to get through but so far he's doing very well motivating around with a walker. He has seven nurses around the clock helping him with everything he needs, even little Kolt is in charge of his breathing machine and she makes sure he gets it done. Got his stitches out of his eye yesterday. We are so happy to have him home, alive and healing❤️.

Scott & I have been married for 26 years we have 7 children one whom is special needs and has had 5 brain surgeries.
Everyone who knows Scott knows he gives 150 % to his family and his job.
He cannot return to work until after the first of the year when his injuries have healed which will be difficult for him to do and for our family financially.
Workman's comp has proved to be a difficult process that does not seem to be providing the care for his injuries. All workman's comp doctors have advised his injuries are out of their scope of skills to care for. Still waiting for a response from them.
We are reaching out to our friends, family, and the community to raise $150,000.
