Sasha is an extremely large adult female dog, surrendered twice by her owners. During her initial stay, Sasha was so stressed she refused to move for several days and due to her size, staff were unable to move her. Her owners were able to reclaim her at that time, however have been unsuccessful and figuring out a long term solution, resulting in her return to the shelter. In her home, Sasha lived with several adults, a child, and a cat who she was described to be respectful of. Her owners described her as "very smart and walking well on leash. She is not very active, as evidenced by her weight, but does have some protective instincts when around her owner. In care this time, Sasha has been observed to have difficulty standing with her rear legs "giving out at times when she's walking. Initially, Sasha was observed to be quite disinterested in engaging with people, however as she has settled, she has been described as curious and soliciting attention. 

Sasha's weight presents a significant concern with regards to her overall health, as well as the shelter's ability to effectively care for her, especially when she is not inclined to move. Without her cooperation, we are unable to ensure she is provided a clean kennel and regular interaction. She would benefit from placement in a foster home on a strict weight loss and exercise regimen.
