Last week on August 31st while on her routine morning walk, Sasha was hit and ran over in the neighborhood where we live. After being rushed to the Emergency Room she was listed in critical condition. Her gums had turned pale in color, her glycerin levels were high, and her blood pressure had dropped tremendously. Her body was in shock and she was clinging onto life when we arrived to the hospital. After anxiously waiting to hear from the emergency staff, Sasha’s x-rays revealed she suffered from both of her hips being broken (completely detached from her spine), a broken pelvis, and her tail no longer being attached at the base of her body. The only two options I was given was to have surgery or euthanize her. Surgery would allow her to still be here with us while still saving her quality of life. I had made the decision to save her life and have surgery.

Sasha’s surgery lasted almost 5 hours, and with a lot of prayer and the grace of God BluePearl Pet Hospital saved my baby. They were able to put her back together with plates and screws. Next steps are to have her drain line removed, get her stitches taken out, and to start physical therapy.

Sasha is loved by so many and has made an impact on their lives. She has helped me overcome so many obstacles in my personal life these last 7 years that I have had her. Without her I would not be strong and be able to get through my everyday life without her. I need her just as much as she needs me!

I humbly ask for any donations from family, old friends, new friends, my community, my neighbors, and current or previous co-workers near and far to help assist with Sasha’s medical expenses, follow up appointments, and future required physical therapy sessions.

It will be a long road to recovery, but we will make it through. I will keep everyone updated on her progress as the days pass!
