My name is Sasha Stinson, I am an 18 year old college bound freshman. I am the second child (oldest girl) of seven children (five girls; two boys), from a single parent household. I'm a fun loving, spirited and caring Leo. I love the color pink, reading books, cheerleading, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.
I graduated from KIPP College Preparatory High School (KCP) with honors June 2016. I am an inducted member of the National Honor Society (since 2014). I had the privilege to receive a special honor cord from our First Lady, Mrs. Michelle Obama, May 2016. I was placed on the Principal's List by maintaining a 3.5 (or higher) grade in point average and made Top Ten during my senior year. I was an Editor-in-chief for the school newspaper, participated in Honors Orchestra, as a 1st seat violinist and Teacher's Assistant. I was selected to be a Math Tutor and also advised on the Senior Panel. I was Captain of the Varsity Cheerleading team, winning 1st place overall and 1st place for choreography at the Spirit Unlimited Competition in April 2016. As a part of community service, I volunteered at the well-known Spark the Wave leadership camp at Villanova University.
I am proud to say that I applied to 10 colleges/universities and received acceptance letters from all ten schools; (Florida A&M, Hampton, Hollins, Howard, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, Penn State, Radford, Salisbury and Spelman). I will be attending Hollins University this fall (class of 2020), majoring in Political Science with the goal of becoming a lawyer. I am the first of my siblings to go to college and plan to set the bar high. I'm ready to embark on this journey to becoming the strong, Christian, independent, black woman that my mom has raised me to be. I will become a well rounded, strong and distinguished lawyer; hoping to make an impact in the judicial system. My desire to be a lawyer comes from my passion to debate, negotiate and my interest in the U.S. justice system.
I will be using the money raised to cover transportation costs to and from home and school, dorm room items, school supplies, luggage, toiletries, small treats that'll help me not be so home sick (I LOVE Slim Jim's and Twizzlers), school and social activity expenses, necessary clothing items (I've been wearing school uniforms since Kindergarten ) and any other unexpected costs/expenses. Thank you in advance for your prayers, well wishes and support.
Hugs and Love,
Hollins University Freshman class of 2020 and Future Lawyer Sasha
