Sarut’s Special-Saving Souls

Donation protected
Sarut would like you to help her mom every winter with the rescue wagon, the food she will feed the hungry and abused animals her mom finds, and the straw and other stuff she needs to care for them. Since Sarut went to the bridge, she cannot give her mom any of her money anymore because everything is free at the bridge. Below is what Laura said about all of Sarut's work while she was on this earth.

We have had the most amazing 10-year journey with a most amazing Cairn, Sarut. She taught us so much even until her very last breath. Cards, flowers, and loving words continue to flow in from seven different countries and we are so moved by how loved she is and has been from her first day and how her friends have continued their loyalty all these years, checking up on her to make sure she was being treated well and continuing to live the life she deserved. She made sure everyone knew every detail of her daily life so all could rest well, knowing justice really does prevail and miracles do happen even for a scruffy little dog in the middle of nowhere whom no one even knows exists. Her life restored faith in humanity for so many. We could never begin to tell all the blessings we received from this magical Princess. Our great Princess played the piano with me at nursing homes and comforted the crowd, we performed at gala events, handed out cold water on street corners in hot weather, brought food and warm clothing to the homeless with money she raised all by herself, brought snacks and water to the mailman and garbage men, she rode in a limo many times, wore beautiful dresses which she loved so much, she went to church and got officially blessed, made beautiful paintings with her toes and raised money for many causes, paid for surgery for many dogs with her own money, raised baby chickies and moles and rabbits and mothered other animals abandoned by their mothers, even baby opossum whose mother was killed. Sarut sat in courtrooms and comforted children so they could testify in child abuse and child sexual abuse cases and put abusers away so the abusers could be stopped.  I could go on and on.  When Col. Potter chose to save this special life they likely had no idea the enormous impact this life would have on so many. They saved so many more lives by saving one. One could also say they saved me. My greatest hope is that Col. Potter has also learned a great deal from this precious life they saved and will continue to take many more chances and realize just how limitless scrappy little dogs can be.

It will take a very long time for us to be anywhere near functional after this loss even though we have truly gained so much. We would like to be more gracious at this point but are simply unable to get on at this time, as I am sure you've all experienced. Sarut and I were working on a cargo trailer for delivering food to animals in crisis situations; floods, storms, etc., and also rescuing them if needed. The trailer is now completed and I plan to continue the efforts in her honor. Having her with me gave me the push and power needed for going out into the world and doing so much for others. She opened many doors I did not have the nerve to go through on m own. I will do my best to carry on for her.

Thank you all for your kind words and condolences and thank you Col. Potter for the greatest part of our lives.
