Sartaj Singh, son of Simran Sahni

Sartaj Singh, son of Simran Sahni passed away tragically on Monday September 23, 2024, at the age of two years old. He had gone to his favorite park with his mother as he had done many times before. He loved to be near the water and watch the duck's swim. While at the park he had wandered over to the river and was later found unresponsive in the water. Life saving measures were taken and he was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Sartaj loved to spend time on the swings and play structure. He loved to throw pebbles into the water. He loved to make soap bubbles and pop them, often laughing while doing so. At home he spent a lot of time riding his scooter all day long.

He was an adventurous, happy, protective little boy and very close to his mother, always wanting to know where she was. The two of them enjoyed singing nursery rhymes together, dancing and making videos. They would later watch these videos together and laugh.

Simran said “We were all so happy together. All of a sudden, he was gone forever. The feeling that we will not see him again, not hear his voice again is breaking our hearts.”

Simran has also said that she wants everyone to know Sartaj’s story and understand the dangers of water around small children and how something like this can happen so quickly.

Simran is a Team member at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada at the Cambridge North plant.
