For those of you who know Kristina, she leaves a lasting impression...that’s for certain! From Glendale, CA, to Vegas, and settled in Mt. Juliet, TN, Kristina’s larger-than-life personality and undying loyalty have gained her a following of devoted fans. Kristina has lived for “her three penises;” her loving husband, Tim, and two miracle-babies, Santiago (7) and Mateo (5). Four surgeries later, including two partial foot amputations, Kristina’s primary concern is getting back home to be with her boys ❤️
Although her life has been marked with physical pains of all sorts, in recent weeks she’s outdone herself. On July 28, 2020, Kristina had herfirst surgery, an embolectomy through the pelvic area, to clear an arterial clot in her right leg that was discovered after Kristina’s right foot went cold and numb. After this procedure, she was swelling inwardly instead of outwardly, thus the need for a faciotomy (second surgery) where the muscles on both sides of her calf were cut to relieve the swelling and increase blood flow. During this surgery, the doctors cleared out two more clots and, by this point, Kristina’s toes were dying from lack of circulation.
Kristina’s third surgery consisted of a partial amputation back to her forefoot at the toe knuckles, and dead muscles were also removed.
Yesterday, surgery # four closed the wound, and it was necessary to shorten her foot that much more due to dead muscles. Kristina lost a good part of her forefoot, and she’s unsure as to if the doctors will be able to save her heel, or if she may lose what she has left from the knee down. A cut was made on the arch of Kristina’s foot to her heel so her doctor has access to see if the muscles will maintain.
*Update from Kristina on 8/14/20 at 7pm: “tomorrow the doc will be removing dead muscle tissue that's in my heel, he will try to do as much as he can while I'm awake then within a few days he will remove more necrotic tissue and pull some healthy muscle from the above calf, hopefully all goes well and I can keep my heel stomp, if not, my foot will be amputated below the knee. Ive been doing lots of PT and OT, and today was extremely successful, so hopefully all goes well.” We’re all pulling for you, Stina! ❤️
Kristina is under the care of podiatrist Dr. Tod Bushman at TriStar Summit Medi-Cal Center in Hermitage, TN.
