Sarrah's Last Wish
Donation protected
As some of you will remember, I launched a similar campaign on Go Fund Me nearly two years ago.
Back then I boxed on an Islington Boxing club show for my best friend Sarrah Sallam, who had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. I used the campaign to raise money for her and a charity of her choice. We have been overwhelmed by the money we raised. It lifted Sarrahs' spirits so much and made an incredible difference to her.
Unfortunately, Sarrah lost her battle to cancer 3 weeks ago. It was a lot sooner than expected. Even knowing she could no longer be treated, you can never truly prepare for someone to die.
Sarrah was a friend who was always there for me, even at my lowest points. She always knew how to make me and others smile. I can't remember a time when she wasn't there for me. Whenever I was going through a hard time, she was the friend I called on and she would always help. Sarrah was the most selfless person I knew; she would help anyone, and she would put everyone first.
What I loved, in particular, about Sarrah, was that she was the most strong-minded person I have ever met. Once she set her mind on something she was determined to see it through. I loved and sometimes hated that about her, but that's what made her Sarrah. Never any grey areas!
Even when she was ill and in pain, she continued to work for her favorite charity, Goodwill Caravan.
Sarrah travelled to Greece and worked with vulnerable refugee children. I was told she managed to put a smile on every refugee's face with her one of a kind beautiful energy.
Sarrah's last wish was that people who wanted to buy flowers for her funeral should donate to Goodwill Caravan instead. With this campaign I want to help to raise some additional money. So, I call everyone and all my fellow Hummingbirds to support this cause.
Up until her birthday on the 18th of April I will be changing my team logos in support.
All profits from Go Fund Me, of any T-shirts sales and other donations go towards Sarrah Sallam's charity of choice Goodwill Caravan. In addition, 25% of all my earnings from my boxing fights until April will be added.
