Sarra Tyler - Stage 4 Brain Cancer support
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Hi everyone. Thank you so so much to every single person who sent well wishes, shared this page and contributed donations to Sarra, Jayson and the boys to help ease the financial burden since Sarra’s diagnosis last year.
Sarra and Jayson have been trying their best to get Sarra the treatments she needs and continue to tick items off Sarra’s bucket list and create beautiful memories for them all to remember forever.
However unfortunately just recently over the Christmas school holidays there has been some complications and life has taken another twist for our dear Sarra.
Sarra slowly suffered a decline in the motor function of her left leg and after being admitted to hospital on Boxing Day after having several falls over a week, it was discovered with an MRI that Sarra has had a new brain tumour growth. This one now on the right side of her brain opposite to the two GBM tumours from last year with the doctors confirming that it is another Stage 4 GBM. Unfortunately again as this tumour is located in a very complex part of her brain it would be too dangerous to operate to remove the tumour.
With this new diagnosis, unfortunately Sarra has been given a terrible prognosis, identifying that if she is here with us in 6 months time, it will be a miracle.
The course of action at this stage is some new radiation, continued chemotherapy and physiotherapy to help with her motor function however this does not change her prognosis.
We are re sharing this Go Fund Me as there will be some substantial costs incoming for the family in terms of making sure the house is suitable for Sarra so she can be home with her family instead of in the hospital due to her mobility issues. This means upgrades and changes to the bathroom, toilets, ramps, stairlift, wheelchair etc as well as additional medication and treatment costs that they might have.
If you have any capacity to help in this area the appreciation will be invaluable. Please share this to your socials so it can reach as many eyes as possible to help ease this financial burden and help make Sarra, Jayson, Archie’s and Max’s lives that little bit more bearable.
We love you all. Love the Tyler’s, Slik’s, Bourke’s and Taylor’s xx
ORIGINAL
Hi, my name is Adrienne and I am lucky enough to be the sister in law to our amazing girl, friend, sister, wife and mum, Sarra.
As a lot of you may know, back in 2017 after having a seizure, Sarra was found to have a lemon sized Stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, or brain tumour. She underwent grueling brain surgery which was followed with some complications, but after some long treatment of chemo and radiation, she received clear scans! Sarra and her husband Jayson have two beautiful babies. Archie, who was around 18 months old at the time of finding her first tumour. And then they went on to have their little blessing, Max after her initial cancer treatment finished and he is now 2.
For the past year or so, Sarra has been having seizures which have impacted her ability to drive, and in turn has put strain on the day to day tasks like school and daycare runs, getting to work, shopping, etc and she has been relying heavily on family members to help where they can. About 4 weeks ago, she had an 8 minute seizure. It was after this seizure at her next regular 3 monthly MRI scan, that unfortunately, they identified that Sarra’s brain cancer has come back in the form of 2 Stage 4 GBMs, or Glioblastomas.
To say we are devastated is an understatement. With confirmation from a neurosurgeon and oncologist that these tumours are unfortunately inoperable, Sarra is officially classed as terminal, with a much shorter lifespan than she deserves of 18-24 months. The cards that our dear Sarra and her family have been dealt is unfair, however we are all remaining optimistic that with chemo and radiation therapy, and other natural therapies, we can extend this time frame and keep her with us, and most importantly with her husband and 2 boys, for as long as we can.
This GoFundMe has been set up to help the Tyler’s with any financial assistance they might need as Sarra is unable to work anymore, and Jayson has had to take some time off work as well to work through this current stage. This may not necessarily be medical assistance, but day to day expenses, such as school and daycare fees, grocery bills, medication, or anything else that the family might need.
Thank you to anyone who is in a position to contribute, your support doesn’t go unnoticed and is immeasurable.
We love you Sarra.
