Sarmistha Sen was born January 2nd, 1977 in Sindri, India. Sarmistha grew up in Sindri and later moved to Bangalore, India for higher studies and work and eventually moved to Plano TX. She studied in UT Dallas and University of Birmingham, Alabama and worked on cancer research for most of her career. She was settled in Plano with her husband of 16 years, Arindam and sons Neil and Ryan and devoted her life to their comfort, health and happiness.
Sarmistha was an avid runner and would go for jogging every morning. On Aug 1 morning she went for her last run in the neighborhood. While she was running she was attacked by a stranger and was brutally killed.
We are creating this GoFundMe page in memory of Sarmistha Sen. The fund will be used for charities that are devoted to issues that Sarmistha deeply cared about such as Cancer Awareness, Cancer research , healthy living and protection of environment.
In addition, the Roy family is pledging a dollar for dollar matching contribution up to $50,000 towards these charities.
