Sarmie Virata Jurcich

Our beloved sister, daughter, mother, wife and friend Sarmie has passed away from her courageous battle against stage 4 colon cancer. She was diagnosed about two years ago but never faltered in her strength to continue to fight.

Although her mind continued to stay strong, her body couldn't keep up. On October 11, 2018, Sarmie (34) passed away with all her loved ones by her side. She leaves behind her son Lucas and loving husband Joshua.

In her last few moments, Sarmie said that her greatest gift that she could have ever given us is her son Lucas. Even with her health failing, she still put others before herself. She continually acted as the big sister, loving wife and caring mother despite all the hurdles she faced.

This page is not just to honor our sister's memory, but to cherish her greatest gift: Lucas. We do not have much money but with your help, Lucas will be able to spend time with his grandparents, cousins, aunties, and uncles in San Diego. Your donations will cover flight and trip expenses for Lucas and Josh as Sarmie wanted Lucas to visit us here in San Diego every summer or whenever we can make it happen.
