Hello, we’re Porsche and Cortez. The parents of Sariyah Lumpkin we’re starting this GoFundMe for our daughter’s medical and home care. On Jan 12, 2025, I went to Henry Ford Hospital for a checkup because I wasn’t feeling my baby moving and had a bad sickle cell crisis. When I arrived, I was placed on a fetal monitor for an hour or so with no one noticing my baby was in distress until her heart rate dropped to critical, and I had to have an emergency c-section. After birth, she was unresponsive and had to be resuscitated and immediately placed on a ventilator that she would eventually need from that day to now. She was transferred to Children’s Hospital 3 days later for a brain bleed grade 3 on the right side of her brain. After being transferred to Children’s, she soon developed a grade 4 brain bleed on both sides of her brain. She has remained at Children’s Hospital since birth. She was sent home on ventilation care for a total of 4 days in June but immediately returned to the hospital because she had a setback. She has been admitted back into Children’s Hospital in the PICU for the last 2 months where she has developed an infection in her trach because no one at the hospital changed her trach out in the past 2 months. It is supposed to be changed once a month and due to their negligence, she has developed sepsis and now meningitis, which is very dangerous for her being that she’s already compromised. So, we’re trying to raise money to fix minor plumbing & heating issues in our home to bring our daughter home where we can care for her with in-home nursing care where we can personally monitor her care and make sure her trach is cleaned and changed properly. We also want to find a better specialist to care for Sariyah, which may cost a little more than her insurance company will provide. Right now, Children’s Hospital is setting our daughter back and it seems they don’t care and only make excuses for their team of doctors and staff.
