My grand-daughter, young, beautiful, generous-hearted, strong, Sarina, was diagnosed with StageIIIB lung cancer three months ago and had a lobe of her lung surgically removed last November. She is now undergoing grueling, painful, debilitating and unbelievably and exorbitantly expensive chemo therapy. After the chemo, she may require radiation or immunotherapy - her doctors will determine that once she is through with her chemo. She is unable to work full time or even attend to her daily chores. There are days when she is so debilitated that she cannot even get out of bed. The medications cost an arm and a leg and in her case, one lobe of her lung and months of costly therapy. Only a third of her medical and therapy costs are covered by her insurance. She is in the hole for the rest of it - which is enormous. She needs our help to continue with her life-saving treatments and medications. She is sharing her staggering, heart-rending surgical and medical experiences on social media to make people aware of what a cancer patient has to go through to survive. She also exhibits in her postings the aplomb and fortitude with which she is handling the situation a cruel fate has inflicted on her.
She needs our help and support - both emotional and most importantly financial. PLEASE open up your hearts and purse strings and donate to Sarina's essential cancer treatments and expensive cancer medications. No amount you can donate is too small or too large. Donate whatever you feel is appropriate.
A special plea to my family and personal friends, who have known Sarina all her life, be generous in your donations. She appreciates every bit of help she gets and so will I. Thank you.
