Sweet Sariah
Sariah hasnt had it easy so far in her young life. Born in mid-February, she was found by her rescuer in May as a sick kitten alone on the streets of BayShore. Soon after she finished battling a severe upper respiratory infection, she developed pneumonia and needed to be emergently hospitalized. Thankfully, she recovered, but, Last Hope volunteers noticed that she was intermittently unsteady on her feet and at times, lethargic. Occasionally, her legs seemed to twitch. So last week, Sariah was admitted to a hospital for tests and observation. Her veterinarian suspected a liver shunt, a diagnosis that was confirmed by a specialist. So, now, this little girl needs a major operation to take care of the shunt.
The Good news is, she should be able to lead a normal life after she recovers from the surgery. As you can imagine, the surgery and treatment is very expensive.
