Support Sara's PA Education

Sara's PA Education Fund

My name is Rana and I am creating this GoFund me to help raise money for my daughter's education. We are originally from Syria and relocated to the states back in 2014. We have applied for asylum and our status is still pending which means that Sara still does not have her US citizenship, or a permanent residency card.

My daughter, Sara, graduated in 2020 from the University of New Mexico, with a bachelor's in Emergency Medicine Services. She was among the first scholars to receive funding from Jusoor which is a non-profit organization that aims to support the education of Syrian refugees. After graduating, Sara has been working and serving her community as a Paramedic. Even though she was working full time, she was still determined to chase her dream and continued taking classes to meet the pre-requirements for the program that she's always wanted to apply to.

At the end of 2023, Sara was ready to take on the next chapter on her life and applied to the University of New Mexico's Physician Assistant Program (PA). Out of 500 applicants, only a 100 students were selected for interviews, and a total of 24 were accepted into the program. I am very proud to say that Sara was one of the individuals that got accepted into this highly competitive program.

Sara will be starting the PA program in July of 2024. This program requires daily, full time attendance making it very challenging for her to have a full time job.

Unfortunately, Sara is unable to receive any federal funding from the government due to her legal status in the states. Therefore, she has been working hard at applying for scholarships and private loans to receive funds to help with the tuition, and the costs of living for the two years that it will take her to complete the program.

Since the funding is very limited for non-us citizens, I am creating this GoFund me to help raise money to support her dreams and future endeavors. Thank you for all of your help and support, it is greatly appreciated.
