My sister, Sara Davis, was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, at the young age of 44. Colon cancer diagnosed under 50 has its own "special" features, including a knack for being particularly aggressive. I am confident that my sister will succeed at conquering this challenge, but it will be a long and difficult road.

My sister, being the independent type, would not ever think of setting up a funding page for herself, so I am doing it for her :). As I'm sure everyone knows by now, cancer treatment is *expensive*, even with the best health insurance. Additionally her disability leave runs out after about 3 1/2 months, and at this stage it looks like her treatment will take longer than that.

Every little bit helps, and I know this will ease some of her concern regarding not being able to work for a while. She has taught elementary school classes for many years and was heartbroken to have to take down her classroom last week.
