Hi, my name is Sara and I am fundraising for the Neonatal ICU at Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry.

November is Prematurity Awareness Month. This year I have decided to try and raise some much needed funds for the Neonatal ICU in Altnagelvin Hospital, because of the amazing work they do every day for all the babies in their care, which our two boys also benefitted from.

To do this I plan to walk/run the distance from Altnagelvin Hospital, in Derry, to The Royal Victoria Hospital, in Belfast, and back again to Altnagelvin. This is the exact journey our oldest son Michael did when he was first born as he was needing care in both hospitals for a time. The full round trip is 142 miles, this works out at 4.73 miles a day, this will vary depending on the route I walk each day, but it will all add up to 142 on the final day.

I hope to reach my goal of £500 to be able to donate to them, or use to provide snacks, essentials and gifts for the parents of the babies in their care. Whichever the NICU staff believe would be of more help and benefit.
