Hello folks, as many of you know Sara has been hospitalized for some time now. We entered the hospital in June with fever and headache expecting a bad cold maybe something else but we were very wrong in our thinking. From blood infection to blood infection multiple organs dropped into failure, pneumonia, infective endocarditis, a fib, tachycardia. She faught as hard as she could on her own but needed to be put on life support after losing consciousness and not being able to regain it. She has remained for the last 2 weeks on the machines and is slowly in and out but mostly gaining alertness to surroundings. If all this wasnt enough for a body to handle we've now got a confirmed diagnosis of..... the big C...
While on life support Sara underwent double valve replacement and other repair of her heart with minimal complications Dr's say given circumstances. The following day the depths of HɛL·L decided they needed to add to it and cause a severe bleed. Surgical Intensive Care Unit nurses jumped on the situation, making calls, getting blood and collectively doing the best they could but it just wasnt slowing. GI doctor did her best with argon and spray gave us the update all was well and stopped but an hour later it let go and even worse... nurses commenting they have never seen anything like it in the 25 years they have been in the icu. Sara received 22 Units of blood in less then 48 hours to keep her heart going.
Those that have helped and continue we appreciate you. We thank you for the continuing prayers, well wishes and thoughts. Ryan has laid his head in many places and enjoyed every home cooked meal, it all makes a difference. So many folks have asked for ways they can help, this may be an option for some and will be used on the necessary medical equipment that will be needed before Sara can return home. We are not ever ones to ask for help and im sure anyone reading this knows that all to well. If you are able to a blood donation and continuing support for Canadian Blood Services if unable
We have a long road ahead but this gets the plan moving forward to the finish line of hospital discharge. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
This is the only Gofundme for Sara. Anything raised will go specifically to the care Sara will require upon return home. Should there be any funds remaining at the end of that recovery journey, it will be used to help other families on a road where they may not have the family, friend or support network like ours. We could also make a collective donation to something where all can input ideas.
Sharing a photo of Sara with JoJo Mason... never know who he knows or who may see this.
Love: Sara ❤️ Thank you all
