Sara's Call for Help After Decades of Giving

As many of you are aware, for decades, I have dedicated part of my life to helping others—from helping homeless animals for years, activism for all kinds of native species.. to volunteering during natural disasters, supporting families in crisis, mentoring youth, and assisting grassroots communities, indigenous communities across Latin America and beyond.

I never imagined I would be the one asking for help.

After nearly 30 years abroad, I’ve returned to Colombia, hoping to rebuild a stable and purposeful life. But the transition has been far more difficult than expected. I currently have two storage units in the U.S. (one in Texas and one in Miami) containing the essentials of my life—documents, books, clothing, work tools, and personal mementos—yet I lack the resources to recover them.

I'm humbly asking for support to cover:

Outstanding storage fees

Airfare and luggage

Transportation of my belongings

Temporary help for pickup and mailing

I’ve spent a lifetime giving. Now, I’m in a moment where I need to receive.

He dedicado gran parte de mi vida a ayudar a los demás — en trabajo humanitario, educación, cultura y apoyo durante desastres.

Hoy me encuentro en un momento donde necesito con urgencia el apoyo de otros, para poder recuperar mis pertenencias y reconstruir mi vida desde cero en Colombia, después de casi 30 años viviendo en el exterior.

Tengo dos depósitos en Estados Unidos que guardan mi trabajo de vida, objetos personales esenciales y herramientas profesionales. Necesito ayuda para cubrir gastos básicos: pago de bodegas, vuelos, transporte y envío de mis cosas.
