Saraii's Summer in South Korea

Hello, my name is Saraii Clarke, I am currently an undergraduate freshman student at Syracuse University, on the dean’s list and am working very hard to obtain my degree in Illustration. It’s been a dream of mine to become an artist working in animation, specializing in character design. My artsy talent started showing at a young age when I was drawing designs for family t-shirts or entering my high school art shows. I fell in love with animation which led to me taking graphic arts through high school.

Recently, I applied for a competitive international study abroad program in South Korea for the summer. And you probably guessed it, I was accepted! Going to Seoul, South Korea will be one of the most enriching experiences. Since I was a kid I knew I wanted to travel all of Asia and possibly live in Asia. I enjoy listening to K-Pop (Korean pop) music, learning about the food and eating whenever possible. I will be studying at the prestigious Korea University where I will be introduced to various aspects of Korean history, culture, and education.

Unfortunately, the cost of the program is quite expensive, and I am not able to cover these costs alone. That's why I am reaching out to family and friends. The funds raised will cover the program fee, which includes tuition, housing, and excursions. Any additional funds will go towards covering additional costs, such as airfare, food, and other personal expenses. While I am currently pursuing academic grants and scholarships. However, I have not raised all that I need to go on my trip. I am hoping that I will raise $8000 by May 5, 2023. The total cost of my trip abroad is $8,000.
