Help save Sarai Arroyo's Life

This is Sarai Arroyo. She is 13 years old, an only child, daughter, friend, student, church lover and future leader. Sarai has a life threatening chronic kidney disease and needs immediate medical attention. In order to survive, she will need a kidney transplant surgery. This operation will cost $40,000. We are raising this money for her through GoFundMe as well as through other sources. This is not financially feasible for Sarai’s family so we are raising money for her. We are relying on your support to help them afford the expensive, urgent procedure that will save her life.

Sarai lives in El Salvador, a third world country located in Central America that is beautiful, but has dealt with decades of political and economic turmoil. El Salvador suffers from by gang violence and extreme poverty and the country is now dealing with a kidney failure epidemic.

Kidney failure has become an epidemic throughout El Salvador. “This is really a silent massacre. You don’t feel any kind of pain, but you feel like you are slowly decaying,” says Ramón García-Trabanino, a Salvadoran Kidney Specialist. Researchers classify the new form of chronic kidney disease as "climate-sensitive,” which means that climate is one ingredient contributing to the epidemic. Temperatures are continue to rise, the country now has hotter summers and longer, drier winters. There is not enough clean water for the people to drink. These factors have contributed to Sarai’s kidney failure.

Sarai’s family lives in extreme poverty. The only treatment that is currently keeping her alive is Dialysis, but the treatment is expensive and Sarai is running out of time. Sarai needs emergency surgery in order to save her life. The children’s hospital rejected Sarai due to being 13 years old. In their country, once a child turns 13 they have to go to the Adult’s hospital. In the United States, a hospital would never turn away a child in these conditions. Sarai’s family wants to bring her immediately to California to get the medical help she urgently needs. Unfortunately, the Trump Administration has ended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nearly 200,000 Salvadorans. El Salvador is now one of the countries on the list that cannot enter the U.S. This is a catastrophe for our family as Sarai is unable to come to the U.S. for treatment. Saria can have the surgery done in El Salvador but she needs the funds in order to pay for the surgery.

Please consider donating to Sarai Arroyo's medical fund. Sarai’s doctors cannot believe how strong this little girl is, but her conditioning is worsening and she needs surgery immediately. She is a very innocent, sweet little girl who is constantly smiling, even though she is slowly dying. We do have faith that she WILL make it out of this situation with the generosity from people such as yourself.  Please help save Sarai’s life by donating to her fund.

She has a heart as big as the world. Please help us save Sarai by making a donation today.
