On behalf of my niece and my sister, we are asking for support. My niece is 8 years old; her name is Sarai. She had been diagnosed with pneumonia prior to arriving at Parkview North for a follow-up. She had been given 5 failed antibiotics. She had a bronchoscopy on Thursday, 8/7/2025, and was given ketamine. She was having trouble waking up Thursday night, and her mom noticed she wouldn’t look to the right or straight ahead. That night, sometimes she wouldn’t recognize her mom. She spiked a fever of 104.5 Thursday night and was spiking fevers all night, so they kept an eye on her. The next morning, she was sent back up to regular pediatrics for monitoring. While she was there, her mom kept telling the nurse she was acting weird. She hadn’t peed at all since Thursday night at 10 pm. So, she asked a few questions to her and realized everything I had been saying was true. She had a lot of neck pain on her left side and headaches on her left side, still spiking fevers despite being on antibiotics. She still was not getting better, so she was brought down to ICU for close monitoring. Her symptoms did not improve. She let them know again that she was acting weird. They said maybe she just had a nightmare and brushed it off. She has been asleep since Thursday, only waking up for a few seconds at a time. Vitals, CT scan, and MRI all came back normal. On Friday night she had a seizure shortly after coming back from MRI testing. Doctors say she now has focal epilepsy and are wanting to discharge her without hardly having any answers to anything. Her mother’s wish is to get her to Riley Children’s Hospital for a second opinion. Sarai is in need of a seizure monitor that is very expensive. She has always been a healthy child, so with everything being so unexpected, they really need financial support. We all would appreciate anything that is given to help my beautiful niece and couldn’t thank everyone enough. No child deserves to go through this situation. Thank you for your time and donations.
