Hi friends and loved ones! As many of you know, I'm in the last year of my PhD program of research on sugar metabolism and liver disease, at Boston University. It's been a lot of hard work, and I'm really lucky to have all of you for support - listening to me talk about experiments on-end or bringing me food when I couldn't get away from lab - and I'm super thankful that you've helped me get this far!
Now I have the opportunity to present some of my latest research at an international conference, where I'd not only share the exciting work from our lab, but also exchange ideas with other leading scientists in my field, and contribute to finding treatments for liver disease.
The conference I'll be presenting at is in Bristish Columbia, Canada! I have to make up the difference between the university funds for travel, and the real cost of traveling to an international conference. I know that the work we've been doing in the Tolan lab at BU is going to directly impact people's health by fighting fatty liver disease, obesity, and metabolic syndrome, and that we're going to see an increase in the quality of life by relief from these conditions within our lifetime. By donating, you're helping further this research and broaden our knowledge of sugar metabolism, and its effects on liver health vs disease.
I appreciate your continued support, and look forward to sharing more of my research with the scientific community, with your help! Thank you!
