Early Monday morning, February 23, two strangers robbed me at gunpoint in my home.
At 2:45 a.m., a man and a woman came into my apartment and held me at gunpoint. They told me to lie face down on the floor, tied me up, pistol-whipped me, and terrorized me. They also took every valuable thing I own.
They were gone within fifteen minutes, but it felt like I spent a lifetime on that floor waiting for them to leave. When one of them asked me if I believed in God. I truly thought he was going to kill me. It was a terrifying ordeal, and I am lucky to be alive.
The police are trying to find the suspects, but they also believe there is a strong possibility that they actually live in the same apartment complex. We are not safe and we have to get out!
It will cost about $3,400 to put my life back together. My job is only part time and I live from paycheck to paycheck. I have no savings. If I am going to take myself and my cats somewhere safer, I need financial assistance! I would also like to replace the things that they stole.
It will take $1,200 to move out. If I manage nothing else, I have to find another place to live. This will cover security deposits, pet deposits, first month's rent, utility transition fees, moving supplies, and a U-Haul truck.
It will take about $2,200 to replace my possessions.
- $400 cash (all my tip money from pizza deliveries for the last two weeks).
- My purse and wallet containing: ID, debit card, check book, Amazon gift card worth $50.
- My KEYS.
- Acer touchscreen laptop, cooling pad, and laptop bag.
- 46" Samsung flatscreen TV, a gift from my aunt.
- iPhone 4s, also a gift from my aunt.
- Nook Color e-reader, also a gift.
- Wacom Bamboo Pen tablet, used to make digital art.
- XBox 360 console, controllers, and games.
- A dozen or so mint-in-box G3 My Little Ponies.
- A soft-sided cat carrier.
This was a horrible thing to have to endure, but I hope that with your help I can meet these goals and get a fresh start somewhere else and start rebuilding. I would appreciate any and all assistance.
Thank you for reading.
