My neice Sarah is a 21 year old college student who has been diagnosed with cancer, for the 2nd time. She was first diagnosed in August of 2013 with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She was treated in Missouri until April of 2014, when she received a clean scan and was considered cancer free. Last month, September 2014, she received news that her CT Scan was no longer clean, and she needed a PET Scan. The PET Scan showed she once again had Hodgkins Lymphoma. This time treatment will be different. She needs to move to NYC so she can have a Stem Cell Transplant and receive Chemo for three months at Sloan. She had already incurred many medical bills from her first round of cancer. This time, she will need to have living expenses, an apartment of some sort, money for food, transporation, co payment, prescriptions, etc. Her mom will need to travel back and forth between NYC and Missouri, as she has another daughter that is highly autistic and needs her care and attention. She was so excited to be called a survivor and is a bit heart broken to so soon be diagnosed again. Her family can not afford these bills. Sarah is young and scared of the next few months. Her family is devastated to have her go through this again. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated by her entire family.
