On April 3rd Sarah was hit by a driver distracted by his cellphone, when walking her 2 girls down their rural road while they road bikes. Thankfully she was able to push the youngest out of the path of the driver but was unable to move far enough away for herself before being hit and thrown into the ditch. She's currently awaiting surgery in the hospital for severe damages to her lower leg after they cut it open to relive pressure buildup. She has 5 breaks in the leg, a broken collarbone, along with bruises and lacerations throughout her body. There was no internal bleeding but due to her increased loss of blood her blood pressure is continually fluctuating low enough to cause reason of concern to increase complications during surgery. Hopefully she will stabilize enough to not need a blood transfusion during surgery. Anyone who knows her and her family is aware that her husband suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury February of 2024 and is currently still wheelchair bound. Their journey has not been easy and anything that anyone can donate to help is much appreciated.
