On December 8 I made the naive error of trying to break up a dog fight. In the fray, I was bitten on both legs and right wrist. A trip to the emergency room later, I learned I nearly severed my achilles tendon, received multiple lacerations and puncture wounds, and fractured my wrist. (Lesson learned!)
Unfortunately, I'm unable to use crutches due to my injured wrist, and I will be laid up for a couple of weeks. I am the sole supporter of our household, and since I am unable to drive or walk right now, I can't work.
This leaves myself, my daughter (a student) and my grandaughter (3 years old) without the ability to pay this month's expenses, January rent, not to mention Christmas. Medical bills have not yet come in, but I suspect they'll amount to a few thousand dollars.
There are many people in need right now, and mine is not a huge tragedy. I know I'll get through this. For me, this creates a significant financial setback that could mean losing our home and/or unable to pay basic utilities, as well as other essential expenses.
Any donation, big or small, will be incredibly appreciated.
Heartbreakingly, I also need to rehome my beloved dog, Charlie. He's a one year old Cattle Dog mix. The rescue organization I contacted would not take him, because he now has a history of dog agression. He'll need to live in a single dog home. If you know of any individual or organization that could help, I'd greatly appreciate the lead.
Thank you so much for your kindness!
