Sarah's Kidney Transplant Journey

After many long years of battling kidney disease, 3 years of dialysis, multiple procedures and countless physician and hospital visits, Sarah recently received her gift of life! She was admitted to UC for kidney transplant on 5/22/2025 and is so grateful for this answered prayer.

Anyone who knows Sarah, knows that she is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. She is someone that you can always count on to be there and help, even throughout her sickness. Despite all that she has gone through, she has continued to fearlessly press through her own struggles in order to be present and show up for each of us in so many ways.

We are forever thankful for this life saving surgery, although with it does come a long road to recovery --- physically, emotionally and financially. I am starting this GoFundMe to help Sarah with her current health expenses and consistent travel back and forth weekly to UC, which at this time is projected to be at least throughout the end of September. As well, she remains to have numerous other healthcare visits routinely each month with other specialists aside from the transplant team at UC and will require lifelong immunosuppressant medications. Too, she does remain to have a large balance due to DCI for dialysis care. I am hopeful that this will provide her with enough financial cushion during her recovery to alleviate the worry of how she will afford travel expenses and such from week to week.
