Hi my names Sarah, I’m running the Belfast Half Marathon this September to raise money for Chest Heart & Stroke.

Unfortunately, on 25th March, my dad suffered a stroke. Thankfully, he has recovered well, but it was a very scary time for our family and it’s still something we worry about every day. My dad has already been through so much — he’s previously had a triple heart bypass and he’s currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

Anyone who knows my dad will know just how amazing he is and how much he means to all of us. Running has been something that’s really helped me cope through all of this, and now I want to use it to give something back.

By running this half marathon, I hope to raise money to help others affected by chest, heart and stroke conditions — and to support the vital work that makes a difference to families.
