Sarah's fight to live
Donation protected
My sister, Sarah Crowley, was diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer in 2016 and liver metastasis in 2021.
Last year her life-saving operation was cancelled on five separate occasions (many at the Hospital). Eventually, having had to take matters into her own hands to secure this, she is now left with the fallout of these excessive delays and is faced with limited treatment options. This devastating situation has been unbearable for us all, coupled with the fact that the best chance comes with a hefty price tag of £40,000 per treatment (she will need several).
Through no fault of her own, she is left to self-fund her chance to live - something that should be free to all.
Chemosaturation is an innovative treatment with excellent results for this type of cancer, but only available privately. I would like to thank Jo Gumbs from OcuMel UK for all her support and for her work in highlighting the need for this NHS England funding with a recent article in the Mail online.
I have exhausted all avenues in my attempt to find help, including any trials, but without success. This 'Go Fund Me' page is being set up to save my beloved sister, and raise awareness of this condition and the treatments available.
If you are in a position to donate; any amount, no matter how small, will go towards the fee for this treatment and details of the procedure can be found on Spire Southampton Hospital website.
Thank you very much
