Sarah’s Fight for Life: Urgent Surgery Needed
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah. Before getting sick, I was a bass player, an art lover, and a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan (though I love cheering on the Angels too!). Music, family, friends, and baseball brought me so much joy.
Now, two rare and life-threatening conditions — Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS) and Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS) — have stolen my ability to do the simplest things: eat without pain, play music, or enjoy time with the people I love.
My Daily Reality
These illnesses have taken over every part of my life. Most days, the pain, nausea, and dizziness keep me stuck on the couch or in bed. Even basic things like taking a shower or washing my hair feel impossible. I’m too weak to drive and depend on others for almost everything.
A “good day” is rare now, but I celebrate the little victories — getting through a doctor’s appointment, keeping down 1,000 calories, or seeing my team win a game.
The Medical Plan
I am scheduled for life-saving surgery on October 28, 2025. This surgery, combined with pre- and post-operative care, is my best shot at survival.
Before and after surgery, I need:
A GJ feeding tube to get nutrition
Hospital stays and procedures
Ongoing scans and dietary support
6–12 months of follow-up with my surgeon
The urgency is critical. My surgeon warned that my health is deteriorating so quickly that I could lose my chance at surgery if we delay. Without treatment, my condition will worsen to the point of being life-threatening.
The Cost
We are raising $50,000 to cover surgery and medical expenses. Here’s how your gift directly helps:
$17,500 — due immediately to secure my surgery date
$17,500 — due one week before surgery
$30,000 (approx.) — hospital stay
$250 — hospital procedure or scan
$100 — specialist visits
$45 — pack of nutrition shakes
$35 — doctor visit co-pay
$$ - aftercare supplies and medical equipment
Insurance may cover part of my hospital stay, but most of this is out-of-pocket.
⏳ Why Now
Every single day matters. My health is deteriorating fast, and my surgeon has warned that waiting too long could make me ineligible for surgery. Your support today can literally give me the chance to survive.
About Me
I’ve always been someone who puts others first — it’s both a blessing and a curse. Even now, the smiles and laughter of my family and friends are what keep me going.
This past year has been unimaginably difficult. I lost my daughter just before her 22nd birthday, we had to say goodbye to our dog, I was laid off from work, and my health has been declining. Through it all, my family and friends have been my unwavering rock.
I am fighting to live — to play music again, to cheer at a ball game, and most of all, to spend more time with the people I love.
