As some of you may know & others may not, my sister, Sarah Moran, has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is being treated at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian and has a long journey ahead of her. She was able to complete an egg retrieval process, and is now receiving chemo. As a result, she will be in the hospital from 4-6 weeks for the treatments and recovery. It is very likely that she will then need a bone marrow transplant in the near future, but the timeline varies due to availability of donors. The treatment and recovery will be lengthy.
She is currently living in NYC with my brother, Jonathan. After postponing their wedding due to COVID last year, they recently got married in a small, intimate ceremony. Jon is beginning his last year of Law School this August and is only working part time. The expenses for medical bills are already beginning to stack up.
Sarah & Jonathan are extremely strong, so it is difficult to reach out for help. However, I know they can use it. Some costs that your money will help cover right away is her egg extraction/IVF treatment, medical deductibles, daycare for their pup Bourbon while Sarah is in treatment, and comfort items that aid in recovery from chemo treatments. Any donation, positive thoughts, and prayers help and we appreciate your thoughtfulness!
Sarah is a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend. At 27 she has accomplished much in her life, and is well on her way to knocking her other goals out and getting back to work as an attorney in NYC. Sarah won’t let cancer hold her back!
