Dear Family & Friends-  To honor my mom (Mehry "Sarah" Ansari), we have started Sarah's Circle to empower single moms through the strength of community and have asked for donations to this fund in lieu of flowers for her memorial service. In this Sarah's Circle's fundraising event, we are trying to meet the goal of raising $10,000 for a single Persian mom who cleans office buildings at nights to raise her 9 year old daughter. As most of you know, my mom was a single mom who, in the face of great adversity,  worked 3 jobs for years to raise the 3 of us. My mom was perhaps the most generous person I knew. She lived a simple life and did not care much for worldly belongings. Even when my siblings and I would buy her expensive gifts, she would often ask our permission to sell the items to support those who she found in need.  Overtime we learned that gifts to her should be in the form of donations to her causes. She survived her tumultuous journey with the help of many she met along the way. She believed firmly in the power of community and paying it forward. She always told us that measurement of success is not how much money you make, but what you do with that money.
