Sarah’s Big Fight
My beloved friend Sarah Hosea was diagnosed with Stage II Triple Negative Breast Cancer on Monday, February, 4th. This was understandably shocking to Sarah, her friends, and her family as she is only 27 years old. Sarah is a phenomenal teacher at Dulles Middle School where she teaches history, is a teacher sponsor for the student council, and coaches cheer to a vibrant group of girls. She is an incredible role model to her students and the most loyal and caring friend, daughter, and sister anyone could ask her. Sarah is also a 2013 graduate of TAMU where she was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Having known Sarah for the majority of her life, I can attest to her compassion for others and the positive affect she has on everyone around her.
Unfortunately, she does not have disability insurance and with only 8 days of paid time off left, the reality of paying for treatment has become all too real. Her doctors have already informed her that she has several more days of testing to be done before she begins a courageous 5 month round of chemotherapy prior to a surgical removal of the tumor in her breast. Sarah has also bravely made the decision to undergo fertility treatments in order to preserve her option and ability to have children as the chemotherapy she is about to undergo threatens that possibility. Fertility treatments alone have already surpassed the $1,000 mark and continue to grow.
We are starting this fundraising effort in the hopes of donating money to a worthy cause. Sarah is the best kind of person who is about to undertake a fight and a journey no woman her age should go through. Please give what you can to this cause and know that every cent will not go unnoticed. We are hoping to at least ease some of the stress of this life-altering news Sarah was dealt less than 1 week ago.
God Bless,
