Sarah's $16k Vet Bill: Lend a Hand
Donation protected
Dear friends of Sarah Strout and The Messenger Animal Rescue, it breaks my heart that Sarah dedicates so much time, effort, and energy, with little to no compensation, to sick, injured, and homeless animals through her work as the Animal Control Officer for Harrington, ME, and her non-profit rescue; yet she is struggling financially to care for her own.
As many of you know, Sarah has had a string of bad luck with her own animals over the course of the past two years. Unfortunately, this has resulted in several surgeries (never mind her own emergency last summer!) and has, or will after Axle's second surgery this week, incurred $16,000 in debt as a result. Any of you who have ever had pets know well that the cost of veterinary care, especially emergency surgery, is not cheap!
It would be super-great if we could all chip in to get Sarah out from under this cloud so she can focus on her passion this summer, and get her long-sought dream of actually having a building to house the rescue up and running! Any little bit that you can spare will help tremendously, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
