Update: CDC Foundation has established a direct donation page: https://give.cdcfoundation.org/Luna. Donations to CDC Foundation are tax deductible and commission free. All money collected from GoFundMe has been deposited to the CDC Foundation money and will be used to fund a spot for a CDC Science Ambassador from Alaska in Sarah's memory.

Sarah Luna meant many things to many people. She was a daughter, sister, best friend, dance partner, coworker, SAS tutor, roommate, Lieutenant, and so much more. She was funny, brilliant, tenacious, optimistic, and thoughtful. She cared more about her family and friends than we can ever know. She spent her life in service to others and died in that service.
In trying to capture what Sarah meant to each of us, her colleagues and friends at CDC are working with the CDC Foundation to establish a scholarship fund in her name that will create opportunities for young people and early career scientists to advance public health for years to come. Efforts are underway and details will be updated here.
