In everyone's life, there a few people that we know we can depend on, that we know we can look up to, and that we know have touched our lives forever. Sadly, these are often the same people who are called to go through some of the hardest trials life has to offer.
For those of us from Naples, UT, one of the people that is a pillar of goodness is Sarah John and she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Sarah is a friend to all, a committed scouter, a leader of children, an amazing mother, a loving wife, and someone who is inherently good. There is no Boy Scout from the Basin who hasn't been touched by the work she has done with the Boy Scouts either by herself or working with her husband, Daniel. There is no Primary child from the Naples wards who hasn't been blessed by her loving ministry. There's not a person from 2500 South who hasn't been able to go to Sarah for help.
Sarah's legacy just isn't her own, of course. Sarah comes from an amazing family, the Hansens. Her father and mother (and her mother passed away from cancer) were also pillars of goodness in the Basin and Sarah's brothers, sisters, and cousins are known far and wide as great people. Sarah's husband, Daniel, is a committed Scouter who has impacted the lives of, literally, hundreds of boys. Sarah's 8 children (from ages 4-18) are also a fun force for good.
Now, we have a chance to finally give something back to Sarah! Cancer is not cheap, especially with a family to raise, so let's all band together to support this amazing woman and her family in her couragous fight against cancer - that she is planning on winning!
