Sarah's Tuition Fees For Oxford

Hi Friends and Supporters!
My name is Sarah and last year I embarked upon a new and exciting part of my journey serving God and his people. Last summer I gained a place at the University of Oxford to study for a PG Diploma in Applied Theology based at Wycliffe Hall. Having completed the first year I am extending the PG Dip into a second year enabling me to complete an MTh in Applied Theology.
Called by God as a very small girl, I served in full time Christian Ministry for 13 years, until last year when I began a study sabbatical. I served initially as Pastoral & Medical Adviser of an overseas mission charity and subsequently for the next ten years in church leadership. I was ordained four years ago in Chichester and served my training curacy in a semi rural coastal parish of two church’s and an army base where for the last 18 months of the three years I ‘held the fort’ during a time of vacancy. This was alongside serving ten years as Minister of a Bishop’s Mission Initiative in Chichester, where we witnessed huge transition and growth. After completing my curacy and with our Bishop’s Mission Initiative in a strong and vibrant place (check out their church website! www.immanuelchichester.com) , I had the opportunity to take a two year full time study sabbatical to prepare for the next ‘many more’ years of ministry! Husband Steve and I had rarely felt so very clearly led by God.
I am passionate about study and making a greater contribution to the church in a time when our culture faces so much fast paced change and the current generation seem so often rootless and bewildered. This has been an extraordinary year at Oxford; a time of immense learning and development and a great encouragement as I immerse myself in the joyous worshipping life of the community of Wycliffe Hall. My future vision is to use my teaching gift as a theological educator alongside further church ministry. I have received a great deal of encouragement from my tutors and have been prompted to consider writing a book for the church in the UK and beyond, based upon my research papers during this time of supervised and disciplined study.
Thank you to all those who have helped me reach my target. I still need to raise £2,600 to cover tuition fees, college fees, book grant and a contribution towards travel expenses.
If you feel moved to assist financially in some way and invest in my future ministry to further God’s Kingdom, I would be so thankful for your help!
