Sarah's Haiti Mission Trip

Hello Friends and Family!
During spring break 2017, I was blessed with the opportunity to travel to Liberia for my first medical mission trip. The group and I visited 2 churches and held clinic for 4 days. We helped over 300 people over this short time frame. I learned so much about medicine, different cultures, taking care of others, and most importantly, how much I love medical missions.
The Henderson Church of Christ has offered me another opportunity to help people. On May 25th - June 1st, a group and I will travel to Haiti for a medical/evangelistic mission trip. The church and churches in the surrounding area have raised over $10,000 to purchase and transport glasses, medications, and other necessary materials. While we are there, we will serve the Haitian's medical and spiritual needs through conducting a clinic as well as a VBS for the kids. This is the only opportunity for many of the Haitians to see medical person for the entire year. I will serve in the capacities that I know how - teaching in VBS and assisting the doctors and nurses with certain tasks, such as triaging (taking blood pressure, temperature, etc.) the patients before they see them.
The cost covers many things: airline tickets, room and board, in country expenses (such as security, medicine shipping costs, transportation, gas, food, etc.), and translators for the clinic/VBS. The funds will need to be collected by May 1st.
This mission trip will not only help me obtain more medical knowledge, but it will allow me to serve the people in a capacity that I wish to practice after medical school.
I also ask for something far more important - your prayers for the safety and success of this mission trip.
