Sarah Balmforth’s Memorial Barn

Tax deductible

This GoFundMe is in memory of Sarah Balmforth, born and raised in Exeter RI and was taken too soon on July 3, 2017 at the young age of 27.  She was an extraordinary person best characterized as honest, spirited, strong willed and always took the road less traveled. Although often appearing as tough and thick-skinned, she always had a fierce love for family, friends, and animals. She studied at University of Rhode Island and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Studies (2014).
As a successful entrepreneur, Sarah established Wild Flower Farm of Exeter raising organic beef, fruits, and vegetables with sales at the local Farmers Market. She was an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), the Rhode Island 4-H Club, and the American Highland Cattle Association. Sarah was the winner of the 2007 Washington County Fair Anne Stone Memorial Trophy and a National Award Winning Cattlewoman well known from Rhode Island to Colorado.
We are in the process of building Sarah's barn in her memory so her spirit lives on.  This will be a place of refuge for the animals that need it most.  We are raising money to benefit Friends of Exeter Animals Inc. and any donation will help make an impact in the lives of animals in need and go directly to the building and upkeep of the barn.
If you prefer to mail a check please send to Friends of Exeter Animals, P.O. Box 302, Exeter, RI 02822. Make checks payable to FOEA and in the memo state 'barn'

We want to thank the Town of Exeter Public Works Department for their support and assistance with the foundation and site work.  This project could not have been possible without them.
We would like to thank the builder of the barn.  Dave at SHR Construction out of North Kingstown, RI  [phone redacted] for his superior work.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to her family and friends.
