On March 17, 2024 my lifelong friend Sarah Pflanz was admitted to Hackensack University Hospital in NJ to begin her battle against Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). APL is a challenging and aggressive blood cancer that required immediate treatment. True to who she is, Sarah faced this diagnosis with fierce determination and grace.

As so many of you already know, Sarah is an incredibly caring and compassionate human being who has always been there for others in their times of need, often putting their needs before her own. She is an amazing Mother, Aunt, Wife, Daughter, Sister and member of our community who volunteers her time both in her children's schools and our local Westfall Fire Department while also working full time.

Thankfully, her husband Mike has taken a leave of absence from work to continuously be by her side supporting, loving and encouraging her. Her mother Candy has also taken a leave of absence from her job to help maintain the busy schedules of their amazing children Danny, Rachel, Carmella as well as her niece Olivia.

Many have reached out to ask how they can help during this challenging new path life has presented. We have created this page as an avenue for those who want to help ease their financial burdens and allow Sarah, Mike and their family to focus all of their energy and strength on defeating cancer for unfortunately a 3rd time!

Sarah is genuinely grateful for the outpouring of prayers, calls, comforting words and messages she has received. Her strong spirit and commitment to fighting this battle is truly inspiring. Thank you for supporting Sarah and the whole family as they continue to navigate the new challenges Leukemia has forced into their lives.
