A Tribute to Sarah Peake – A Bench for a Beautiful Soul

We are coming together as a community to raise funds for a memorial bench in honour of Sarah Peake — a truly beautiful woman, inside and out, who touched the hearts of so many. Sarah was the kind of person whose smile could light up a room, whose warmth and kindness made everyone feel welcome, and whose spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Sarah wasn’t just a familiar face in Finchingfield; she was part of its heartbeat. Whether she was working behind the bar at The Three Tuns or sharing laughs with friends, she brought joy, laughter, and love to every moment.

With prior permission granted by Finchingfield Parish Council, It feels only fitting that this memorial bench will be placed under the cherry tree on the green outside The Three Tuns — the very place where she worked and shared so many special memories with James her husband, family, friends and neighbours. This bench will be more than wood and metal. It will be a place for reflection, conversation, and connection. A place to sit in peace, to share stories, to remember Sarah, and to feel her presence in the heart of the village she loved.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will be warmly and gratefully received — helping us honour Sarah in a way that reflects the love she gave so freely.

Let this bench be a celebration of her life — full of warmth, friendship, and beauty — just like Sarah. Thank you for helping us create a space that honours her memory in the way she deserves.
