There’s never a good time to bury your mum. Yet at only 19 and 13 Oliver and Freya are left to do just this. I know times are tough for all right now but any amount of money you can spare would be so gratefully received to lift this families burden.
RIP Sarah fly high, your legacy will live on within and alongside your children. As well as making sure everything is done for your legacy to thrive within the community, family and for some who may have not known how much you really fought for your life all these years.❤️
If you care to read further in depth of Sarah’s battle, it is below.
BACKGROUND OF SARAH’S LIFE:
Single mother Sarah has fought for nearly 13 years with numerous chronic pain and illnesses. Sarah was diagnosed with endometriosis back in 2010 and after mesh surgery suffered from chronic pain and sickness during these years. The pain was so extreme for Sarah it stopped her from doing the things she loved such as venturing out to see the beautiful nature and views we have here in Torbay, spending time with her children and spending time in her always well cared for gardens. Sarah made many medical appointments trying to find out what was wrong with her and why she would be hit with these debilitating pains in her abdomen and she always left with the same answers, nothing, all she got was a little shrug and be told it was due to her mesh surgery but no investigations were made. Feeling like nobody was listening Sarah became scared to leave her house because she didn’t know when she would be hit with this crippling pain again.
Over coming years Sarah’s health deteriorated even more, she lost so much weight going from a healthy 8.5/9 stone to a tiny 5/5.5 stone. Sarah was being violently sick regularly and was admitted to hospital on numerous occasions. Eventually taking Sarah seriously some investigations were made, unfortunately little too late and Sarah was sent for emergency bowel surgery. After being misdiagnosed for what paramedics claimed to be ‘malnourishment’, Sarah was finally found to have bowel necrosis AND POLYARTERITIS NODOSA VASCULITIS. Sarah’s bowels were eating themselves. Sarah had surgery to attempt to fix them as much as they could, this was thought to be successful but eventually proved to not be the case, later, due to the misdiagnosis of ‘malnourishment’ and ‘treatment’ of NG feed, Sarah’s bowels ruptured on the ward and was instantaneously rushed to theatre for a life changing surgery. Only days after seeing her children, they were then informed of her chance of mortality. This surgery had devastating effects and left Sarah in a coma for over 5 months. Sarah’s children were called to say their goodbyes on many occasions as the hospital thought Sarah wouldn’t pull through. However, this warrior of a woman ALWAYS did. She wasn’t letting this nasty illness take her and not letting her make memories with the two people on this earth who mattered the most to her - Oliver and Freya. Sarah pulled through but wasn’t ever out of the woods she arrived home now with an high output stoma intact on May 18th 2020 and has battled continuously ever since with chronic sickness, stoma problems, heart problems and more so frequent nutritional deficiencies. This has landed Sarah in and out of hospital on many many occasions. Missing important times such as birthdays and christmases with her cherished children. This become massively life changing for Oliver and Freya. Oliver has been trying to complete college whilst looking after his sister, his mum and running the house. Along with this Oliver has been working a little part time job to try help ends meet. Freya has struggled leaving her home. They’ve had absolutely no support from any authorities and were always seen as coping to well to get help. They never moaned just struggled on just happy to have Mum alive.
Devastatingly, On January 1st 2023 aged just 43 Sarah lost her long battle with her illness she fought for so long she just couldn’t fight any longer. This has left her two children with so many uncertainties. I would really like to help them out by raising as much money as possible to help pay for the best send off for their mum and hopefully a little bit of financial security to see them through why they try and figure out some financial support. It’s not something anyone at such a young age should experience let alone have the stress of arranging so if we can take some financial burden from them it will be just that one less thing for them to deal with right now. This will let them grieve the tragic loss of their absolute rock of a mother that raised them to be the most caring, strong and loyal children you could ever meet.
