My name is Virginia McCuen and I am Sarah's aunt.
Sarah had an unexpected surgery for a severe spinal cord compression on Nov.17. Her mobility in her arms and legs had been declining rapidly over the past few months and her problem was diagnosed as a result of an ER visit to Sutter Roseville.
As many of you may know, Sarah is a Type 1 Diabetic (20 years.) Her medical history is complicated and she believed her symptoms were autoimmune related, perhaps MS. Her inability to hold a pen, type, or safely drive, had gotten to the point where she could no longer work as of the beginning of November.
As she takes time to heal, look into further issues of deterioration in the cervical area of her spine, pursue Disability and Medi-Cal insurance and get some physical therapy, she has bills to pay. She also has insulin pump supplies and numerous other related expenses and anticipates a large hospital bill.
The good news is that Sarah's mobility has improved! She has more feeling in her extremities and is hopeful for the future but at this moment is burdened with financial concerns. In the spirit of the upcoming Holidays, let's do something to lighten her load and restore her faith at a time when she is feeling low. Sarah is strong but if you knew her back story over the past several years, she has had more than her fair share of sad challenges. $5, $10, $20 donation could make a difference if we all spread the word. The goal is to get her through the next several months and be able to just focus on her health and getting stronger.
Thank you.
