Sarah Mason who's lost equipment & stock in a fire
Donation protected
We're raising £2,000 to help our friend, artist, photographer and filmmaker, Sarah Mason, who has lost her studio in a devastating fire.
In the early hours of the 2nd August 2022, the valley of Hebden Bridge was filled with smoke. The next morning, we discovered that Burlees House, home to many artists and creators, had been destroyed in the fire. I could only think of my friends who had lost their livelihoods in the blaze. More than just businesses - for artists, studios are a very special place.
We're starting this crowdfunder to help the wonderfully kind and creative Sarah Mason Film and Photography. Sarah and Suzi have worked tirelessly over the years to build up their business. Whilst they think their insurance will cover some of the equipment that was in the studio, they are devastated to find that it won't cover any of the stock such as the many frames, sample albums, prints and other products that they have built up over the years.
Sarah and Suzi have touched many people's lives with their exquisite images of everyday life, capturing the stories of life in our valley as well as sharing their great knowledge of filmmaking and photography with courses and tutorials.
Hebden Bridge wouldn't be the place it is without the small businesses that shape our wonderful town.
We're asking if you can spare a little cash - or just share Sarah and Suzi's story - to help them get back up and running again.
