Hello. My name is Adeline and I am Sarah Martin's 16 year old daughter. I have a brother who is currently deployed and cannot be here during this difficult time. I am setting up this account to fundraise for my mom and myself as my brother does not live at home. Because I am 16 I had to set it up under my mom's name.
My mom is a single parent who runs her own small business as a commissioned artist. She supports me solely on the income she earns at her business. She is in the ICU and will be there for at least 3 more weeks. I have loving people caring for me but I am concerned about how my mom and I will survive, once she is discharged, until my mom is fully recovered, which could take several months. So I am asking for your help.
Let me explain what happened....
On Monday, 4/29, my mom woke up with a terrible headache "the worst headache she's ever had in her life." She went to the ER and the doctor diagnosed a migraine and sent her home. Even though the migraine medicines they treated her with in the ER did not alleviate her pain, the doctor insisted it was a migraine.
She went home and got into bed. At 2am our dog Lady woke my mom and when my mom tried to sit up, she could not move her neck or head and she began hearing blood rushing in her head. She cried out to God to shield, armor and protect her. God answered and place His gentle hand on her, calming her soul and giving her peace. She says she felt His presence in that moment.
She was transported back to the same ER. This time, brain scans were performed and the aneurysm was clearly visible. And to make it worse, there were 2 aneurysms, one also in her carotid artery.
She was taken for immediate brain surgery. The doctors told me that her aneurysm had burst in 2 places and she had heard it flowing. But, somehow, miraculously, the blood stopped flowing and 2 blood clots formed after it had hemorrhaged for a short time. The doctors were more amazed by this fact because my mother had had a TIA 6 years ago and has been on blood thinners ever since that time, so her blood is usually slow to clot.
That was God's work!
When my mom cried out to Him, he saved her by clotting her aneurysms. There is NO doubt. The doctor says under normal circumstances she wouldn't have made it back to the hospital under the condition she was in.
Thank you Jesus! Praise the Lord!
Flash forward to Monday 5/6 in the neuro critical care unit of the hospital...
At 4am my mom suffered an episode. She became paralyzed on her right side. She was taken to the OR for another brain surgery procedure. She is currently stable but in critical condition in the ICU. The paralysis on her right side seems to have subsided, with the exception of her face, which is still numb.
My mother has never been one to ask for help or a handout. I am asking on her behalf because I love my mom and I know when she comes home she will need time to recover. Without an income for a few months, I know things will be very hard for us.
If you can spare any amount of money to help us I am so grateful. And if you cannot, that is okay, but please keep us in your thoughts and prayers either way. Thank you. ❤️
