Sarah Kippen Wood’s Road to a Cure

My name is Janet Kleimola, I am organizing this fundraiser on  behalf of my niece Sarah Kippen Wood. Sarah and her husband Brandon have three young children and live in Livermore, CA.

 This week, Sarah found out she is in the advanced stages of a rare and aggressive cancer of the bile ducts called cholangiocarcinoma.Because the cancer has already metastasized to the lymph nodes, she has a very brief window in which she needs to receive life saving chemotherapy from one of the few medical teams in the country that are experienced handling this rare form of cancer.

The family is relocating to Maryland to receive this care, but the urgency of the situation requires Sarah to fly out immediately and begin paying out of pocket for treatment until her insurance can be transferred through the right channels. It’s imperative that Sarah receives her first round of chemo within weeks or even days.
