Sarah Kidney Transplant

Dear friends and family,

With the encouragement of my friends and doctors I have decided to create this GoFundMe page. As most of you know in November 2015 I was diagnosed with IgA , this is a kidney disease where your antibodies are attacking your immune system. At the time that I was diagnosed my kidney functions was at 30%, however now they are functioning at 13% which means that I need a kidney.

This is where I need your help! My insurance will cover most of the cost assosiated with the actual transplant procedure. However, there are many pre, during and post treatments, medications, appointments, and expenses for both myself and my potential donor that are not fully covered. Below, I listed some of these anticipated costs, though it is not an exhaustive list:

Costs includes:
-follow-up care and testing
-additional hospital stays for complications or infections
-fees for surgeons, physicians, radiologist, anesthesiologist and recurrent lab testing
-anti-rejection and other drugs, which can easily exceed $2,500 per month
-rehabilitation
- lodging and travel expenses for the donor and the donor's family.
- travel expenses for pre/post transplant.
